this sentence is quite weird. it means :
"To take a trip, you need to create and follow ????
The choices are
A - follow a guide
B- follow a project
C- follow an itinerary / a route
D- follow a tour operator
If you must "create", you won't follow a guide, nor a tour, nor an itinerary.
I guess you would follow your project.....
