a). If you cut 30-ft of wire into 3 equal pieces, then each piece
pretty much has to be 10-ft long, no matter what you do to it.
Whatever shape you make it, the perimeter of the shape is 10-ft.
If you form it into a perfect circle, then the circumference of the
circle is 10-ft.
b). Remember that in ANY circle
                 Circumference = (π) times (diameter)
                       10-ft   = (3.14) x (diameter)
Divide each side by 3.14:Â Â 10-ft/3.14 = Diameter
Radius = 1/2 the diameter
Diameter = 2 x radius      10-ft/3.14 = 2 x radius
Divide each side by 2:Â Â Â Â Â Â 5-ft / 3.14Â =Â radius
                            1.59-ft = radius .
c).     Area of any circle = (π) times (radius)²
                 Area = (3.14) x (1.59-ft)²
                       = (3.14) x (2.53 ft²)
                       =  7.94 ft²  (rounded) Â
