What does 'but their eyes are mine' (line 11) in The Old Woman's Message (Kumalau Tawali) mean?identify at least two similes in this poem

Respuesta :

In 'The old woman's message (Kumalau Tawali)' what she means when she says 'but their eyes are mine' is that she wants to see her sons one more time before she dies. She doesn't want to see them for their wealth but for the sake of seeing her sons one last times, and to be able to look into their eyes.
Two similes in this poem are "are like fruit borne by birds."
"my hands are like broom sticks," A simile is direct comparison using 'like' or 'as'.

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions or would like further explanation just let me know! :)
