The answer is  number 2  : In high school, students learn subjects like science, math, English, and social studies.



High school is capitalized if you are referring to a specific high school because at that point it is a proper noun,eg. Brown Public High School. As this is not the case, it is in minuscule.


Also, names of school subjects (math, algebra, science) are not capitalized, with the exception of the names of languages (French, English) as  it appears in this sentence.
