Hey guys! I need help please

A football coach needed to divide 48 players into two groups.He want the ratio of group 1 to group 2 to be 1:3. How many players are in group 2 ? Can you please explain how you solved it? Thank you

Answer: there are 36 players in group 2

Explanation: I took the ratio 1:3 and simply kept multiplying both side by a number until the numbers when combined equaled 48, I ended up with multiplying the sides each by 12, getting 12:36, 12+36=48. Hope this helps
