How does Ponyboy change from the begging of the book to the end in the Outsiders. If possible, can u include page numbers?

Ponyboy changes because he takes Johnny's advice to "stay gold". He learns that life is about the good things, and if you dwell on the bad, life will pass you by. And sorry, our teachers took our books so I don't really know any page numbers off the top of my head.
