A test has 20 questions worth 100 points. The test consists of multiple choice questions worth 3 points each and extended response questions worth 11 points each. How many multiple choice questions are on the test? How do you work out this problem?

It says extended response -questions- so we know it must be more than 2.

Using simple math we can see that 11 x 2 = 22, and 3 x 26 = 78

78 + 22 = 100.

Therefore there are 2 extended response questions and 26 multiple choice questions.
