The formula to find slope it (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(2,4) is the first point
(6,2) is the second point
(2-4)/(6-2)
-2/4 which can be simplified to -1/2

The slope for this line is -1/2 if you use the formula [tex] \frac{ y_{2} - y_{1} }{ x_{2}- x_{1} } [/tex] and plug in the x and y cordinates you get negative one over two
