If you would like to know how much do you have to add to 3 7/8 to get 7, you can calculate this using the following steps:

3 7/8 = 31/8

7 - 3 7/8 = 7 - 31/8 = 56/8 - 31/8 = 25/8 = 3 1/8

The correct result is 3 1/8 or 25/8.
To make it to 7 you have to convert mixed fraction to improper fraction and then to decimal..
