3x-y=-10
y=3x+10
so the equation “x+2y=6” is “x+2(3x+10)=6” so we have:
x+6x+20=6
7x=6-20
7x=-14
x=-14/7=-2
to get y we can replace x with its value “-2” in the equation”y=3x+10” so we have:
y=3(-2)+10=-6+10=4
