The last is one and the lump of clay one is correct. The law of conversation is that energy can not be created, nor destroyed. This is a perfect example because the apple is not losing any of the matter it had in the beginning.
the law of conservation of matter states no matter what form matter is in, matter cant dissapear or be created, it just changes form. therefore it would be the snowman melting. though the snowman changes, the snow is now water and the mass is the same regardless of its changes in form.
