When performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR you have to follow the following steps:
1. Make sure that the scene or environment is safe.
2.Tap the patient and ask if he/she is okay, if the victim is non-responsive proceed to CPR.
3. First, perform the head-tilt chin-lift maneuver to open the airway.
4. Start by giving 30 chest compressions and 2 breaths thereafter. Watch for response from the patient and if there is none, repeat the cycle.
Therefore, when performing rescue breathing, tilt the head of the patient.
